Carnaval Week

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a good holiday. We have an exciting week ahead of us.

Carnaval

-We are still looking for more parent volunteers to work activity stations on Friday, February 24.

- On Thursday, bring a loonie and wear your favourite toque.

In class, we will be talking about Carnaval in Quebec, and we will continue learning the song 'Bonhomme Bonhomme '.

Treasure Box

The Treasure Box has been very popular. Thank you for your contributions. We are always accepting items for this.

Scholastic

When ordering Scholastic Books, please send cheques only. Please do not order online.

Math

We will be reviewing addition and subtraction for numbers between 10-20.
We will begin a new unit soon. I will provide more details next time.

French

We will practice our play, and the students will be working on writing sentences. The students are encouraged to use their dictionaries that have a list of vocabulary words by theme to write their stories or paragraphs.

ELA

We will continue with our simple stories and our phonics program. I encourage students to read in English at least 10 minutes every evening. You may refer to the website www.clarkness.com for online leveled readers. For emergent readers, simple books with one or two words on each page is recommended. These can be found at the Calgary Public Library.
